Material Specification: 2mm thick mirror on selected high impact resistant safety plastic. EN71 Safety: Passes ASTM 1 metre drop test (on edge).
Use/Safety Notes: Clean only with domestic furniture polish or damp cloth, never with abrasive cleaner which will damage the mirror. Caution: direct sunlight reflected in mirrors can cause a dazzle hazard or an ignition source always perform a risk assessment when selecting a location for a mirror indoors or out.
Mirrors will be scratched in play: Toys with hard wheels, and materials like sand can scratch and may shorten the useful life of this mirror. Our mirror is made from a safety plastic and has a top surface mirrorisation with a clear safety protective film coating on top. This means that if the mirror is dropped, thrown, or impacted with a toy (even violently) that it will not break or shatter like an acrylic mirror. The protective film saves a lot of wear and tear, but it does not make the mirror completely damage proof, which means our impact resistant safety mirror will be more prone to scratching than it would be if it was made from glass or an acrylic plastic which have under surface mirrorisation. This positive design decision of selecting a top surface mirrorisation, prioritises safety over scratch resistance.
